Snowcrash Republic includes personnel from a variety of professional educational backgrounds.

The team includes an Advanced Skills Teacher in Media and educational consultants with specialisms in literacy and e-learning. It is a flexible team with the ability to draw from consultants in other curriculum areas and experts in building and communication technology within Second Life and other virtual world environments.

The team are employed in both the public and private sector as well as working freelance on some projects.

Through their collective creation and development of the Drake's Island project the team have a strong philosophy that learners appear to learn at their best when they do not realise that they are learning. Creativity is at the heart of our working practice alongside the belief that new media, social networking and videogames are not the work of some dark force but actually are hugely beneficial to young people and can be utilised to aid learning and development.

Most of the team have read Steven Johnson's 'Everything Bad is Good for You'. Those that haven't are planning to.

As well as creating innovative educational projects members of the team regularly speak at conferences and give interviews to the media.
